Jen isn’t it amazing how we cope with major situations way better than the minor ones. We don’t have time to worry, so we just get on with it and deal with the situation.
Sorry to hear you had such a traumatic night though, hope another one doesn’t come your way when you are home alone!
Music has always been a big part of my life and still is.
IZ’s version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” always brightens my day and it is has been on my playlist for years.

Stacey, Thanks for your comment. I’m sorry for the loss of your friendship. It’s been a while and now and it still hurts but it’s definitely a lot better now. Making new friends helps but it doesn’t replace that friendship.

I’m glad I came across your blog. I have been mourning the loss of my best friend of 10 years and it’s nice to know that I’m not alone. I have spent the past 7 months watching in disbelief as she became closer and closer friends with someone else. I felt so helpless and I would shift from denial to anger to sadness and then back to denial again. I explained my feelings to her and she admitted to spending a lot of time with her new friend. She felt bad so she began making a lot of plans with me, but it just wasn’t the same. I decided that 2012 was going to be the year for me to let go, accept what is, and move on, but it hasn’t been easy so far. Writing in my journal has been cathartic and I pray everyday for comfort and a softened heart. Despite the sadness, I am grateful for the life lessons learned and the opportunity I have had to make new friends. I am also grateful to have the support of my husband and another friend with whom I can share my feelings. These moments of reflection will help me to grow and I have faith that time really does heal a wounded heart.
